Levantine Hill Estate track record of international acclaim at global wine awards has continued with the 2021 Levantine Hill Samantha’s Paddock Mélange Traditionnel last week claiming the coveted double gold medal at the highly respected 2024 CWSA. What sets the CWSA apart from other competitions that it’s 100-strong judging panel assesses wines on their favourability amongst consumers and that have a clear market value for trade buyers.
This wine was amongst only 8 Australian Cabernet-Sauvignon based wines awarded the prestigious Double Gold medal at this years’ awards.
The 2021 vintage is special for not only it’s critical acclaim, but because it features a special edition label that commemorates the birth of ‘Baby Chloe’, born that year to the wine’s namesake, Samantha. The birth of Baby Chloe marks the continuation of a family legacy upon which Levantine Hill was founded and one that its owners plan to continue through the generations.
The flagship Samantha’s Paddock wine is known as the “impossible wine” because of the steepness of the land from which its fruit was grown, presence of underground, rocky seams and outcrops that were thought to be insurmountable. In keeping with the traditional varieties of Bordeaux, this wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
Levantine Hill Estate was also awarded Gold medals at the 2024 CWSA for the following wines:
Levantine Hill Estate’s Managing Director Samantha Jreissati said:
