We are delighted to unveil our 2015 Estate Sparkling Rosé.
This distinctive, cool climate sparkling Rosé emerges from arguably the best Yarra Valley vintage of the decade, coupled with a new winemaking philosophy.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir (D2V6 clone) picked from the Colleen’s Paddock vineyard, this unique cuvée has been matured for three and a half years on its settled yeast lees to enhance its intensity and expression.
Featuring a bouquet of brioche, strawberry danish, saltbush, rose petal, finger lime and nutmeg undertone, the Pinot Noir announces its presence on the palate as richness and bandwidth. The extended ageing ‘sur lie’ has enhanced body and crème anglaise texture over a saline acid backbone with blood orange, cranberry, tarragon and Campari-like flavours carrying through and prolonging the finish.
“Compared to the inaugural 2014 vintage which was quite a flavourful year, this 2015 vintage Sparkling Rosé has extra intrinsic weight and shape from the beautiful vintage,” says Winemaker Paul Bridgeman.
“It’s really quite lean and structured and has great weight and balance. It’s quite delicate and quite perfumed but still has substance to give it that drive that you’re looking for. We’ve deliberately kept quite dry, but it is very refined.”
As per our inaugural release of the 2014 vintage, we have collaborated with renowned Australian illustrator Alexandra Nea to create a bespoke label featuring our iconic Cellar Door wine barrels designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects.
